Well, I started my window cleaning business 16 yrs ago.
I was in a job I did not like and started to look for alternatives.
I was not sure what I was looking for but one thing I knew was it had to be working for myself, be cheap to set up and a job I could do beside my currant job. So there I was contemplating my next move whist out driving, I had pulled
Over to park and saw a person cleaning windows, and that is what got me thinking.
I went home that night and started to plan my big idea, I wanted to find out as much as I possible could: What equipment I needed, how to get customers, going self employed and how to sign up, the list was endless.
My research came in the form of the Yellow pages I had no Internet not even a computer, I started to talk to people I knew at home and work with varying views.
Doing that got me my first few customers.
I ordered a small point (which I still use today-Dear but great long-term value) bought a few pieces of window cleaning equipment and borrowed my landlords double ladder.
After about a month doing my new jobs, knocking and building my rep up
Plus working full time, I spotted an advert in the local for a WC helper,
I applied for that and got the job, I handed my notice in at the bowling alley and have never looked back.
After 4-6 months of helping this chap and building my own round up, I was working seven days a week.
After a year we went into partnership which did not work out, but hey ho.
Another year later I was taking people on myself.
I’ve helped a few other people out along the way, but now it’s me and myself now, I have help where I need it but manage by my self now days.
Now I’ve come to the stage where I keep refining my round to better my clients.
I also want to encourage and help other prospective WC’s in there own personal quests.

This is why I decided to create a web site, so I could be more informative and interactive with other WC’s farther afield, and to pass on some of my experience.
There are many ideas I have to put down here, but just like when I stated window cleaning I know it will not happen all at once.
This is still a learning process for me, so keep your eyes peeled.
